This virtual event celebrates the Rose Library’s acquisition of the world's most comprehensive collection of Bram Stoker materials. Play in teams or individually, or just come to watch and learn fun facts about Dracula and related material. This event, which is open to the public at no charge, will be hosted by the Rose Library's community outreach archivist Lolita Rowe and rare book librarian Beth Shoemaker, along with Dracula scholar Billy Tringali, an outreach law librarian for Emory’s MacMillan Law Library.

Graffiti, Dracula, and Apollo 15 are among the topics covered by new exhibitions in the Robert W. Woodruff Library.

“Graffiti: A Library Guide to Aerosol Art” in the Schatten Gallery draws on several collections in Rose Library and includes work by Atlanta writers.
A pop-up exhibit on Bram Stoker materials, a significant new acquisition by Rose Library, highlights an original copy of Dracula.
“Apollo 15: Digital Exploration on the 50th Anniversary of the Mission” features the Apollo 15 Learning Hub, created by the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship. Materials from The David R. Scott and Anne Lurton Scott Papers, another recent acquisition of Rose Library, are included.
You can also see, “What Must Be Honored: The Exhibitions of Pellom McDaniels III, PhD,” a tribute to Rose Library’s former curator of African American Collections who passed away in April 2020.

The walk/run will begin outside the Student Activity & Academic Center and run through Lullwater Park. Onsite registration will be from 7:30am-8:15am. Prizes will be awarded to male and female winners in 5 age groups (21 and under, 22-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 and up). The run is hosted by Emory Recreation & Wellness and the Emory Alumni Association. There is no charge for Emory University students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends and families. Bagels and coffee will also be served.

Architecture and Art of Emory: A Walking Tour

THIS TOUR IS AT CAPACITY.

Join Gary Hauk, the university historian emeritus, on a 75-minute stroll that will take in the high points of the historic architecture, modern art, and innovative design of Emory’s Druid Hills campus. From the original campus plan by the Beaux Arts genius Henry Hornbostel, to the Brutalist structures of the 1970s, to the postmodern contributions of Michael Graves, the tour will take in work by some of the greats of 20th-century American architecture. Eccentricities also abound, with the unique “Source Route” environmental sculpture in Baker Woodlands and amusing works of art on prominent display or tucked into out-of-the-way spaces. Hauk is the author most recently of Emory as Place (University of Georgia Press), which considers the geography and architecture of Emory as the path to wonder and imagination and meaning. Come explore this path.

Artwork from ancient Egypt, Nubia, and the Near East; Greece and Rome; the Americas; Africa; and Asia is always on view in the museum's permanent collection galleries.

Two new, special exhibitions will also be available during Homecoming: “Each/Other,” the first exhibition to feature together the work of Marie Watt and Cannupa Hanska Luger, two leading Indigenous contemporary artists whose processes focus on collaborative artmaking; and “Resonance: Recent Acquisitions in Photography,” an exhibition exploring the act of interpretation through the seemingly opposing themes of isolation and togetherness, loss and shared joy, and fear and courage, among others.
