Golden Alumni Brunch: Emory as Place - Landscape and Memory
Join fellow golden alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago for a brunch featuring Dr. Gary Hauk, Emory University historian, who will share his unique perspective on the transformation of Emory's campus over the last fifty years. Despite these changes, an enduring spirit lives in the geography of Emory. Hauk shows that history resides not only in its archives but also in walkways, bridges, the libraries, classrooms, the gardens, and creeks that make the campus unique. Opening remarks by President Claire E. Sterk.

In Their Shoes: Unheard Stories of Reentry & Recovery Screening & Panel Discussion
In Their Shoes: Unheard Stories of Reentry & Recovery is a documentary film about a year in the lives of four men whose stories intersect in a Writers Without Margins prison reentry and addiction recovery creative writing program. Natalia Livingston, Emory College Graduate and In Their Shoes Producer, will screen this documentary for Emory students and alumni. Following the screening, guests are invited to hear Natalia moderate a panel discussion with the film director and Emory faculty addressing themes portrayed in the film.

WaterHub at Emory Tours
Emory has established strong leadership in water conservation among the higher education community. The WaterHub at Emory is the first water reclamation facility of its kind in the U.S. and, by recycling sewage to usable water for heating and cooling campus buildings, reduces Emory’s water footprint by over 40%. Join a fascinating tour of this award-winning facility.
Two forty five-minute tours will be offered, at 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. Capacity is limited.

Woodruff PE Center Tours
Where can you swim in an Olympic-sized pool, climb a sheer rock wall, do the cha-cha, play a quick game of squash or racquetball, run a mile, powerlift, or ride a bicycle while watching television?
The Woodruff Physical Education Center (WoodPEC)! That’s where. During this tour of the home of Emory Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation & Wellness programs, you will see the aquatics center, stadium, arena, weights area, racquetball courts, and much more.
Two thirty-minute tours will be offered, at 3:00 and 4:30 p.m.
Convocation Hall Tours Friday
The marble building on the main quadrangle, known as the theology building for most of its history, is now named Convocation Hall. Completed in 1916, it is one of the first buildings on Emory's Atlanta campus.
This tour will highlight spaces including the original reading room and chapel, which combine restored architectural features with state-of-the-art technology.
Two thirty-minute tours will be offered, at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
A Conversation with Alumni of The Emory Wheel
In celebration of The Emory Wheel’s 100th Anniversary, the Wheel will host a panel of alumni from prominent news outlets including the Washington Post, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Fox 5 Atlanta. Moderated by Professor of Practice and Pulitzer Prize-Winner Hank Klibanoff, the panelists will discuss today’s state of journalism and the ever-evolving media landscape. The panel is open to all members of the Emory community.

Planetarium Shows
The planetarium, one of the main features of Emory’s Mathematics and Science Center, is a 56-seat classroom space designed for teaching astronomy and hosting events that explore and celebrate the cosmos. Enjoy this short presentation by Emory faculty.

Enjoy brunch with your student at the Dobbs Common Table. Students with Meal Plan A receive 15 guest passes per semester to be used exclusively at Dobbs Common Table. Students must accompany parents when dining and simply use their EmoryCard and note they are using guest passes. Credit cards are also accepted.
Other dining options where Dooley Dollars* may be used: The Depot, Highland Bakery in Goizueta Business School, SAAC Café, Kaldi’s at the Student Center, Eagle Emporium, and Starbuck’s at Emory Bookstore.

Coco on the Quad
In the Disney Pixar animated film Coco, Miguel journeys to the Land of the Dead accompanied by the street dog Dante, a type of Mexican hairless dog known as a Xoloitzcuintle. Visit the Art of the Americas galleries before the film to see ancient West Mexican ceramic versions of these dogs that were placed in tombs to guide dead souls to the underworld. Compare them to living Xolos visiting from Amoroso Xolos, a local breeder. As you get cozy on Quad to watch Coco, enjoy fresh handmade empanadas, cold Jarrito drinks, and Mexican hot chocolate from Mami’s Empanadas, sold separately.

Edges of Time

Emory-Glenn Sunday
The congregation of Glenn Memorial Church, along with Emory University, will celebrate Emory-Glenn Sunday with a Mass Choir comprised of choral groups from the Emory community. A community lunch will follow. Music will be provided by the Emory University Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Eric Nelson, the Candler Chorale, directed by Dr. David Daniel, and the Glenn Chancel Choir, directed by Michael Dauterman. All are welcome.
Beloved Community: Christian Worship at Emory
